My daughter invited some of her friends over yesterday afternoon to swim and eat pizza and she asked beforehand if it would be ok if she took her new CD player outside and played music for everyone. I couldn’t help but smile at her question; because she has seen her dad and I take our CD player outside on many occasions when we have friends over for pool parties. Granted, our CD player is in the form of a larger system, but hers is a small one that I recently ordered her online. It runs on batteries so I knew the second she turned the volume up, that it would drain the batteries. I told her that I’d do better than that, that I’d let her use the CD player that me and her dad always use, and her eyes lit up. I told her she could bring all her CD’s outside that she thought she’d want to use, and that we’d make sure to keep them in the pool house so they didn’t get damaged from the sun. The girls had a great time and even spent some of their time in the pool dancing to some of the songs. It was priceless.
